Girls Programs Offered Within The SBA
Minor baseball isn’t strictly ‘for the boys’; in fact there have always been a number of talented girls who have played house league, rep or select in various age groups within the Scarborough Baseball Association. There are some 2008 programs designed just for girls this season. Tryouts are underway for Birchmount Baseball bantam and women’s teams which play in the Central Ontario Girls Baseball League. For more information about the bantam squad contact Peter Lee at (416) 519-5820. The women’s team coach is Randy Low who can be reached at (905) 683-7637 or (905) 903-1953.
Birchmount also hopes to field a peewee girls select team, open to players enrolled in its house league. Contact Kevin Williams at (416) 261-4453 for more information.
West Hill Baseball is seeking women interested in playing on a recreational baseball team, which will play informal games, just for fun and love of the game. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to play. If interested contact Marlene Carrington at carrington.m@hotmail.com or call (416) 919-8345.
